My Story

Hi, I’m Sally.

I help people create rich, personalized postpartum support plans that highlight peace of mind and a sense of emotional wellbeing after baby arrives.

In 1987, I was a new mother looking for community and support. Back then, the book I needed to guide me didn’t exist. So I had to write it. My mother-centered book, Mothering The New Mother: Women’s Feelings and Needs After Childbirth, is still on reading lists for doulas and has helped countless women over three decades. As a survivor of postpartum depression and anxiety, I know how important it is to have a support system after baby arrives. I also know how hard it can be to make one. You’re wondering, “How will I feel? What kind of help will be most important? Where do I find it?”

Reimagining Postpartum Support can help you answer some of those big, often overwhelming, questions. Let’s do it together, starting now, wherever you are in your pregnancy.

Richer Prenatal Means Richer Postpartum!

Thank you, Sally, for all of the valuable information and support. It was really helpful to think through various aspects of the ‘babymoon’ time, and to start setting up support and resources now. I so appreciate your help, and I hope many other women get to take advantage of your wisdom!
